Red itchy spot on palate.

Hello. I have had an itchy palate for about a week. It didn't occur to me to take a look at it until now. I see now that there is a red area associated with the itch. Anything to worry about? Am I able to see if it resolves on its own or do I need to see a dentist?

The mouth has a high potential to resolve most ailments. I'm suspecting you may have used something like new toothpaste, herbal supplements, medications, etc.

I have actually been using a new toothpaste. Well, not completely new, I have used it in the past. It never made my mouth itchy but I did always seem to get canker sores whenever I used it. No new medicines or supplements but I have been eating a new brand of quite a few groceries this past week or so. I'll switch back to my old toothpaste and familiar groceries. Thanks!
