We posted a few years ago on this forum as during lockdown we had major issues which after 18 months eventually sorted itself with no clear answer. Last time different tooth.
We seem to be back there again pain in lower front tooth this time following starting jogging and getting fit in training for 10k run. Initially a bit of enamel that dentist had plugged a tooth with had come out back in start of August no pain at this stage so booked In appointment to get seen too in a few months. But after a further couple of runs started getting pulsating pain in what thought was the same tooth. Daily pain.
Eventuality got in to dentist they didn’t do xrays but decided root canal following tapping the tooth which was slightly more sensitive but couldn’t do it until November.
The daily pain was draining and affecting life and got an emergency appointment so did an initial drill into tooth where missing enamel was filled with something to then revisit in November and then if settled do permanent fix
In meantime 2days after this he passed out and ended up in hospital in A&E then overnight stay, not sure if connected but hospital felt jaw pain could had contributed to the fainting. Day before had frlt off with sore throat also looked pale and bluish round lips.
Hubby then ended up the following week with covid from hospital on top of things then lost voice but felt the mouth pain was going into throat.
Been back to dentist this week as brought forward dental appointment, this time eventually xray done. They could see a slight change in tooth nexf to one drilled compared to previous xray over 2 years ago. Seemed slight infection which seemed more now but dentist doesn’t think this is problem she’s prescribed antibiotics metro something. Although already had penicilin and some other antibiotics for sore throat/loss of voice from doctors previously.
Hospital put on carbozspine for face pain but was knocking out and making feel worse so now off this.
Dentist has referred to see a facial pain specialist at this stage.
Feels like history repeating itself and despite being out of ghr pandemic this time when we couldn’t get help last time it now seens even harder waiting times and anyone being bothered. Dentist can’t see anything Doctor doesn’t wantbto know when its mouth pain.
My Husband is a shadow of former self and we don’t know where to tufn yet again.
Anyone had something similar and got an outcome that may help.
Last time we ended up going private and paid for cbct scan, went to specialust dentsl hospital and still nothing found.
Can’t go there again with the unknown pain it was horrendous and we were lucky to come out the otherside ok last time.
Putting pressure on our life and affecting everything surely this can be solved easier we live in uk but at times feels like knocking head against a brick wall.
We are cancelling all arrangements at present and life is a daily grind with no light at the end if the tunnel yet again and not sure now what to do next.
