What technique would you recommend to take a good impression with alginate? When I took impressions there were quite a few bubbles and when I ran it over plaster it didn't look as good.

Make sure the alginate is mixed properly. No powder left. When the impression is taken, do border moulding in order to capture the most detail possible.
If not happy with impression-rather retake.
