Decay on first molar. NHS dentist told me it didn't need filling and it could remineralize. Private dentist told me it had permeated the enamel and needed filling. What's your opinion? And, if it has gotten into the dentin, how long can i leave it before it gets to the pulp? I need about 3 months to save up some money before I can afford a filling.

Needs a filling. Did go through the enamel into the dentine. Do the filling as soon as possible.

There is a rating system for such decay (attached). You would be ICDAS 3. At this point it is possible to remineralise but ONLY if you have excellent diet and oral hygiene. I see that you have had other fillings in adjacent teeth, so I am guessing that you are a medium-high risk patient, and I would fill this tooth.
