Whats with this custom mouth guard from my dentist. Its extremely bulky, hard and uncomfortable. Does this look right to you?

I got 8 porcelain veneers done in June and paid for a custom mouth guard from my dentist to protect my investment because I grind my teeth at night. I want to protect my investment but I have not worn a mouth guard at all since having them placed due to how unbearable this is to wear. I thought getting a custom mouth guard from the dentist was the best way to go about this, but now I’m thinking I should have just went through a mail service for one. Insurance barely covered the cost of this, so I’m out of pocket a good chunk of money for this and it feels like a complete waste.

Speak to your dentist. There are a lot of alternative custom bite plates that can be made as well to protect the veneers or even a retainer, which is thinner and more comfortable.
The custom mouth guards are 100% better than the mail service ones. The design was maybe just not right for you.
