Vitamin C toothpaste-Please Advise

One of my friends is pressuring me into trying a Vitamin C toothpaste from Thailand.
I heard that Vitamin C is good at preventing or reversing gingivitis, but I am also concerned that Vitamin C is acidic and really damaging to teeth
Please Advise
