Short Plateau Implants -- safe and advisable?

Recently the dentist told me that he can avoid a sinus lift by using short implants. I had resisted the sinus lift as it seemed more than I could endure. I have two missing molars. The dentist seems convinced that a short implant is possible for one, possibly both molars. I'm 72 years old, in generally good health. Is this a good idea?

Depends on the amount of bone that is left. Would need an x-ray to give an opinion. But overall yes, it is possible.
