Hi.

I had no pain until I had a cavity filled twice. I think the dentist drilled too far in my front tooth and hit a nerve. I then went and got a route canal which did not help. The pain is severe and consist for the last 4 years. I pain goes all over my mouth and in my sinuses too. I've been to 5 different dentist afterwords and an ent specialist. They say all nothing is wrong but the pain won't go way. I've been taking motrin and allergy medicine and it does not help both it pain.

Any thoughts or suggesting would.be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Do you have x-rays that you could share? Need more information to give an opinion in this case.

3d scan for sure. xrays dont always show everything. But not to scare you....look up trigimineral neuralgia. It could be nerve damage if it's been that long. I would do 3d scan first just to make sure it's no other teeth and then neurologist.

Most likely a 3D scan was already done by the various specialists. I would still like to see a recent x-ray of the affected tooth and root canal.

I’m really sorry to hear about the ongoing pain; that must be incredibly tough. It’s not common for a root canal to cause persistent pain like this, so it could be worth considering a few things:
  1. Nerve Damage or Inflammation: Sometimes after a root canal, the nerve can still be irritated, leading to ongoing discomfort.
  2. Referred Pain: Your pain might be coming from the tooth but spreading to other areas like your sinuses or jaw.
  3. Sinus Issues: Since you mentioned pain in your sinuses, it could also be a sinus infection that’s causing pain in the same area.
Since you’ve already seen several specialists, it might help to get a second opinion from a dentist who specializes in complex dental issues or even an oral surgeon. They may be able to do more specific tests or imaging to figure out what's going on.
I hope you find some answers soon and get the relief you need!
