Molar extraction redness and sensitivity after 2 weeks

I had my #2 molar extracted on 12/9. It was okay, my molar cracked one of the roots off during the extraction so my dentist had to do some drilling and digging to get all the pieces out took maybe 7 minutes to get the tooth out and it stopped bleeding that night just fine. The tooth was pulled because it had cracked through, but there hadn't been any infection. Healing has been okay, pain and achiness here and there, but what's concerning me at the moment is that I've noticed that while it's been healing, there's this deep red patch that goes from the extraction site to my next molar which has been feeling more sensitive, so I'm concerned about an infection. The teeth around the area feel very sensitive and if my head gets jostled like if I'm running or I bump my head or something, it feels like a nerve sensation like not necessarily painful, but a weird deep sensitivity. I haven't had any swelling or fever or other infection symptoms though, so I was just going to wait until after the holidays to follow up with my dentist if it still hasn't gone away, but I just wanted to see if anyone on here would look at this and go oh yeah that's infected, get to an emergency dentist now. I also noticed that the teeth on the top on that side of my mouth seem like the gums are receded slightly since the extraction as well.

Mostly the deep red color and that my next tooth is more sensitive is what has me worried, but maybe that's just what the socket looks like for a while after the tooth gets forcefully removed.

Thanks for any feedback.

Some discomfort and changes in sensation can be expected after an extraction, your specific symptoms especially with regard to redness and sensitivity should be evaluated by a dental professional for proper diagnosis and management.
Based on your description of symptoms particularly the deep red color around the socket and increased sensitivity in neighboring teeth—it would be advisable to consult with a dentist as soon as possible to rule out any potential infections or complications from your recent tooth extraction.

If you experience any severe symptoms like those mentioned above (e.g., fever, significant pain), do not wait until after the holidays, seek for dental care immediately.

Looks to be healing OK. It's quite common to have sensitivity from adjacent teeth because the gum has been pulled away from the root surfaces - this usually settles naturally over time but you can speed it along with a desensitising toothpaste.
