I have pain in all my teeth. My diet is limited to rice, mashed potatoes, soft pasta, and melted cheese.... I can only eat things above room temperature and even then I am in pain.
I do have Bruxism, but the Oral Surgeon thinks most of the pain in my teeth is because of referred pain coming from my gums (does this sound correct, do you think the Oral Surgeon is right on this one?)
I went to the Periodontist: X-rays’ reveal generalized chronic adult periodontist: Caste Type III.
He wants to do Periodontal Laser Surgery:
Upper right quadrant-Laser osseous surgery LANAP
(Same for Upper left quadrant, Lower right quadrant, and Lower left quadrant too)
Will do Occlusal adjustment: full mouth.
Is a less expensive option viable? He is giving my a generous 50% discount (sliding scale so total cost comes to $4287.50) but I’m just wondering, is there something cheaper than Laser Gum Surgery that would also work? Like Traditional Gum Surgery? How does that compare cost-wise and is it as effective or at least effective enough?
