How to treat decaying tooth in a 10year old boy

Hello all,

My 10 year old has a decaying tooth which has recently begun to chip and partially fall out. At this point, part of it is still left over. This is still a baby tooth, and it is loose. Should I wait for the rest of the tooth to fall out, and treat it good oral hygiene to kill any bacterial infection in the meantime or have the tooth extracted.
