I have a tooth (lower front) that needs to be extracted and a bridge is planned. My dentist suggested a "temporary" bridge at the time of extraction for obvious cosmetic reason. She will place the permanent bridge in about 7 weeks. Her office tells me that I have to pay extra for the temporary bridge on top of the customary charge for the permanent (which is the charge for 3 crowns). What I don't understand (and she is not able to explain) is a temporary bridge IS part of any bridge work no matter if the middle teeth lost before or just recently extracted. I appreciate any comments
