(Unfounded?) worry that some food particles got stuck under the crown when it was being placed, that may cause the tooth to decay from the inside?

Basically the morning of the fitting I cleaned good, then as the appointment was for lunch time I had a cereal bar a couple hours prior, then chewed some sugar free gum to kind of pull out any particles. Unsure how thorough a job this did, so there may have been some residual particles around the tooth to be treated (molar tooth).

I got to the dentists office and he took off the temporary crown, and immediately went onto fitting the permanent crown.

No irrigation or cleaning or anything.

When he was satisfied he said "I'm going to cement that", and just before placing it, gave the prepped tooth about a 2 second going over with some kind of air-blowing device, then placed the permanent crown.

I've read decay can happen under a crown, and for some reason I have this image in my head of five years from now, an issue with decay arising as he didn't clean the prepped tooth sufficiently before cementing in the permanent crown, as some particles or micro particles were left there and began to rot and decay the restored tooth from the inside.

NAD, so I don't know this process, but I would have thought a lot more attention would have been given to cleaning the prepped tooth before cementation, to prevent exactly this from happening.

Is what I described typical, or do I have anything to be concerned about?

This may sound trivial but given how much pain, agony any cost this tooth has caused, thinking about this has caused me genuine worry that an issue may surface a few years from now that may cause me to have to repeat this process again, or maybe even lose the tooth, so I would appreciate any insights and/or feedback as to whether my concern is reasonable?

P.S. the tooth was root canal treated a few months ago.
