The search for composite teeth (instead of veneers) in Florida

Twenty years ago (in Florida) I had two composite veneers put on my eye teeth for cosmetic reasons. I have an open bite so there is no pressure on my front upper teeth. One veneer is still there and the other fell off recently. So I want it replaced. I visited my dentist who wanted to do $12,000 of work on 4 upper front teeth. So I went to a cosmetic dentist who quoted $7,000 for veneers. I paid about $250 for both composite veneers about 20 years ago. All I want is the same thing!! But dentists say they won't do that - old procedure, blah blah. I guess they don't want their reputations tarnished by veneers that might discolor or won't last forever. Any advice for me?
