I had braces for about 4 1/2 years, and right after getting them taken off, my messed up bite went back to normal. 
My teeth are perfectly straight, but I cannot bite down. You know how when most people smile, their teeth touch? Mine do not. I cannot bite down at all.
According to my orthodontist, my jaw is growing asymetrically.
What is the name for this? Like I know the terms overbite, underbite, etc. I don't even know what my condition is to google it.
THANK YOU for any help you can give. My orthodontist wants me to get braces again followed by orthognathic surgery when I am done growing. Btw, I already got my wisdom teeth removed and that did nothing.
