Good day
There is a saying that says the oral cavity is the gateway to the body or to general health. Studies have shown that there is a connection between periodontal disease or " gum disease " and lots of other systemic conditions, such as high BP, cholestrol, diabetes etc. Any untreated infection, compromises your immune system, which leaves you open to other infections. Best to leave no gum infection untreated.

Hi Dr M, thank you so much for your reply. Is there any chance that problems with the bladder (such as frequent urination) can be linked to dental infections? Or is that total unrelated?

Good day

I think it best that you see a medical GP for that. Frequent urination has been associated with Diabetes.
But it could be something else. Best to go have that checked out by a medical doctor.
