Hi

I went to the dentist yesterday, and they said a root canal is required on my bottom front tooth.

I have attached the x-ray.
Would you agree? Or would antibiotics or any other treatments be more suitable?

Thanks in advance.

Have the dentist pulp test/cold test. If the tooth is vital, the lesion can be benign Cemento-osseous Dysplasia but I doubt it. I suspect that tooth had numerous traumatic events and killed the nerve.

Root canal therapy can be necessary when oral bacteria invade the pulp inside your tooth. This can usually happen when a cavity is left untreated for a long time. Trauma can also occur if your tooth becomes cracked or damaged.
