Gum flap surgery may encompass many goals. Under local anesthesia, the gums are flapped open to access the bone underneath. The surgeon may employ guided tissue or bone regeneration using various membrane barriers. Hopefully he or she discussed the case fully because you need full compliance to recommended protocols.
