Is this normal?

Three days ago I had to have a tooth extracted and an extra tooth added to my denture, all went smoothly. Impression taken in the morning, at my afternoon appointment, tooth extracted and denture with extra tooth put into my mouth. I left the denture in my mouth for 24 hours as instructed, have done all the hygiene stuff and use Gengigel First Aid oral fluid regularly.

I'm experiencing discomfort, actually pain, wearing my denture where I had the extraction. I know the gum is still sore so should I avoid wearing the denture until it is healed or persevere and wear it all the time?

Ask Your Dentist if can Adjust the Denture, Even a tiny adjustment to relieve pressure on the extraction site can make a huge difference. Ask if a soft denture reline (e.g., Visco-Gel) can cushion the sore area while your gums heal. First 7–10 Days: Discomfort is normal, but pain should gradually decrease. After 2 Weeks: Most soreness resolves, and the denture should feel more comfortable.
