How long to wait after root canal to place post?

Can a post be fitted the same day after root canal is completed, or is it best to wait?

I used to place posts on same day, but after accidentally shifting the GP one time during post placement, I no longer bother trying to save time and avoiding another appointment. I had to send the patient to an endodontist to have the post removed, at my cost. Make a mistake once and learn from it.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I thought same day might risk infection, but it sounds like that isn't a concern

It's not a risk infection. I would be wary of doing it on a tooth that hadn't settled first.
