Non-surgical fixing of underbite

Dear forum,

I have massive dental work to be done due to long neglect.

I've just had my tooth #11 (mis-aligned onto upper gum), #12, #13 and #15 extracted. My three front teeth #7, #8 and #9 have fillings. The fillings are quite deep and need crowning now. Further information, teeth #1 to #6 are in good position, while the 4 front teeth is a bit crooked, with #10 taking the place of #11 (of which #11 grown onto further up my gum). I also have mild underbite (or crossbite, which I don't know how to tell).

While waiting for the wounds to heal, I need to make sure I'm making a right decision before getting a full bridge from #7 to #15. The dentist said it is the best solution to my case and he will use bridge to fix my biting problem. Is this the best solution for long term? I'm 28 year old male.

Thanks!

Jim
