Tooth pulled, possible infection

So I had one of my top back teeth pulled 2 weeks ago, its still causing me some pain. After I got the tooth pulled, they sent me on my way without any antibiotics. Not sure if that's normal or not. I have made a dentist appointment, but because of the holidays, it won't be for another week. I have made a few attempts to see what's going on back there and I can see a white spot on the cheek area, next to where they pulled the tooth. I'm not entirely sure if it's related or not.. I figured I'd upload a few of the photos and get some opinions on anything I can do about it. The hole where the tooth was goes up pretty high on the outside, and it's hard to get my tongue all the way up there to feel around, but I feel something hard and rigid up there, I'm worried that I'm feeling bone. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
