A few crooked teeth

What is wrong with the six front teeth on the lower jaw being crooked and therefore rubbing off the wrong surfaces of the teeth? Do I need braces in this case? What complications can there be?

It sounds like you have crowding as well as an occlusal problem. The best option would be to see an orthodontist for a consult. Braces might not be necessary, but maybe you are looking at some sort of aligner therapy.
