Vertical lines/grooves

One more question for the knowledgeable people at smd:
my wife's maxillary incisors each have 4 or 5 lines running vertically
on the labial side. Her dentist only recently noticed this (there
should be an age limit associated with performing dentistry..but I
digress) and asked whether she tends to suck on lemons, which is not
the case. Any other ideas what these lines or ridges might be ?

Lemons and limes cause horizontal troughs in anterior teeth.

Vertical 'craze' lines are usually from parafunction.
