Urgent diagnosis and help required!

There is a severe pain in my upper right hand side right at the back. It's not the tooth it's the gum. I've had it for over a week now. It is so sore i cant touch or brush it. It almost feels like its bruised. I went to an emergency dentist yesterday but she doesn't know what it is as the gum.isnt red or inflamed. What could this possibly be and how do I fix it? I'm in agony!
