Trick to reduce tartar build up on teeth

Before bed time and upon waking up 1- I rinse my mouth with Listerine mouthwash; 2- Rinse my mouth 3 times to remove most of the mouthwash; 3- Brush twice with Arm&Hammer (baking soda) Advance White Toothpase (not gel).

I think the mouthwash first gets rid of plaque and bacteria, and the baking soda in the toothpaste helps with pH balance on my teeth(baking soda is an alkali) thus preventing the acidity of my teeth and reduced buildup.

Just be careful, baking soda might consist of larger particles, which are more abrasive. They not only remove your plaque or biofilm layer, but used with a medium or hard toothbrush, removes your enamel layer as well. This could lead to sensitivity as well as your teeth becoming yellow in colour, as the enamel layer becomes thinner.

Baking soda has benefits for oral hygiene when used correctly and sparingly, its abrasive nature poses risks if not managed properly. Overuse or improper technique could lead to significant dental issues such as sensitivity and discoloration due to enamel erosion.

I just want to add you might want to be careful with using the Listerine mouthwash before brushing as not to rub alcohol in the mouthwash against teeth while brushing and thus leading to enamel erosion and tooth sensitivity
