Tooth Extraction

I had a second to back tooth extracted in May. During the extraction process, the Periodontist knocked off the crown on the back tooth. I almost swallowed it and spit it out on the floor. The crown was popped back in place. I think a dental implant is the next step yet I am now concerned to have anything further done due to this carelessness. The extraction site has healed nicely and I have doubts about further work done by this Periodontist. I need advice as to what to do next? I have a followup appointment in 2 days.

Dislodging a filling or accidentally knocking a crown off is a normal risk when doing a difficult extraction. It has happened to many a dentist, and is not a reason to doubt the skills of your periodontist.
