It is not uncommon for individuals who have undergone orthodontic treatment to experience changes in the appearance of their teeth such as a flatter look this outcome is influenced by various factors including orthodontic mechanics, individual anatomy, retention methods, and aesthetic goals set during treatment planning. If you are concerned about your post-braces appearance, consulting with an orthodontist for personalized advice would be beneficial.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. They might well be happy because it looks better than how they started. As a dentist, I am put off by artificially white teeth (esp veneers), but that's my personal perspective.

Everyone has different aesthetic preferences. Still, I think the concern here is more about whether the flatness is an expected outcome or possibly a sign that something wasn’t fully optimized during treatment. It's not necessarily about beauty standards, but rather about functionality and natural appearance. It helps to hear from professionals like you, though, to understand better the range of what’s considered normal post-treatment.
