Small area on inner gumline of lower teeth not healing after 2-3 weeks

Hi, hoping someone can help.

One morning I brushed too hard on that particular tooth/gum area and noticed a small red area on the inner gumline. It has now been 2-3 weeks and it hasn't changed or gone away.

No pain. I've circled it in the photos, it's slightly more red in person than it appears in the photos.

What could this be? I'll be honest, I'm scared it could be something sinister.

Does not look like anything sinister. It might only be some increased vasculature in that area.
