I had infections in old root canals, had all treated in May. One re-root canal caused unbearable pain my face for 2 weeks, constant and shooting trigeminal nerve pain, narcotics didn't touch it, finally steroids helped. 5 month later my face is hurting again, My dentist xray seems to show some infections are still present. (teeth #4 and #5. Does the attached X-ray show an overfill on #5? could this have caused the nerve pain?) I am seeing the endodonist specialist who did the re-root canals in 2 days. I am afraid the nerve pain may return if we try to treat again. I have also heard that when that nerve is involved, having a tooth extracted can cause permanent nerve pain. Any advice?
