Root canal retreatment

I had recent molar root canal retreatment on 4 roots. I have still a final session to come for core restoration. Should I still be getting pain (3 out of 10) which comes and goes after 12 days on?

If the infection on the tooth was severe, prior to re-treatment, it could take some time to heal. Sometimes 1 month. I would mention this to the dentist, and maybe delay any additional treatments such as a crown etc. on the tooth, until the symptoms clear up.
