So about 3-4 years ago i broke a bottom back tooth, less than half was gone. I didnt have insurance, and couldn't afford a dentist. Anyway, it NEVER caused any issues! No pain! No sensitivity! Like nothing wrong.
Recently, now since i have insurance, ive been going to dentist get work done. They did a procedure on a part of my gum, front bottom, for gum receding in a spot, where they filled it in with a layer of gum tissue. I ate soft foods And left the stitch in for 2 weeks to make sure i didnt mess up any of the work. But, i have not noticed any difference in my gum from before to now.
Now, for the broken tooth, was going to put a crown, once they started cleaning it out to prep for a temporary crown they said i will have to go back for a root canal before the permanent crown. I though a root canal was needed if you were in pain or having issues with that tooth. Being that i paid so much to fix a gum recession that looks no different, im kind of suspicious if i really need a root canal? Or its just a way to make money. I feel i would have just been fine with putting a crown since i went so long with no issues how it was.
