Root canal needed?

I have pain while biting down and when touching my 2 back molar teeth. Pain came suddenly. I am abroad at the moment and not with my usual dentist. I want to verify that I need a root canal as the dentist here tells me I do. The pain situates on lower left side in the back. Dentist here didn't seem sure which molar tooth needs root canal.

The most suspicious is tooth #19. I would confirm it with cold test and percussion. Most likely you may not need it unless it is waking you up at night and or experiencing swelling.
