Dentist noticed this on an x-ray and believes to be an abscess. I had a root canal a couple of years ago and it has always felt different but no other symptoms and no progression. I was recommended to see an oral surgeon and he says that it can be left alone, doesn't need to be dealt with. I can find nothing that supports this online so looking for some reassurance that it's okay to leave untreated.
