Good afternoon! I recently had a tooth removed in the back of my mouth last Thursday 7/16 I went back in on Wed 7/22 and the results were a dry socket. The dentist put the dry socket paste in and restitched extraction site. I have been taking pictures every day in fear that I will get another one. It was an incredibly tough extraction that took 3 hours. Today I noticed a hole forming, is that another dry socket forming? Please help, I just want this to heal.

Good day

If the area is not painful, I would leave it to heal. If it becomes painful, it is possible that there is still some infection that needs to be cleared and in such a case, the dentist will need to clean it out again. Sometimes it is necessary to clean out an infected socket 2 or 3 times, before it gets better.
