Possible Toxins in my Mouth

About a month ago, a strip of my nail polish became lodged between my teeth. Since then, I experience a continuous sense of a foreign substance on my teeth and gums that feels like a plastic film, but melts when I drink something warm. This is a major irritant and my gums are sore. This has persisted every day. Any suggestions what is causing these symptoms are and how to resolve the issue.
