I’m just wondering what could be cause of slowly/poorly healing gums post bone graft 4 months out?
For reference my implants for 3/4 failed possibly from me inadvertently chewing on that side. Attempted bone grafting right away but think my tissue was too soft as it failed as well.
At my 2 month post op the oral surgeon noted healing albeit slowly (my previous 2 month follow up was unremarkable) and when I came in to ask for a follow up due to feeling a sensation in that area the doc noted gingivitis (I realized I had neglected brushing my back tooth out of overcaution).
He advised pushing back the implants by a month to 5 month post op but the gums (4 month post op now) still looks red.
Is it because I have not been brushing on top to not disturb the site? The doc had mentioned doing salt water rinses a bit longer but hasn’t advised on brushing over on top.
I’m just worried what happens if it still looks the same and implants are attempted in a months time (I also will be taking a week off of work).
Thanks very much
