Pain at extraction site

Hey everyone. I had a tooth out about 4/5 months ago now as a nerve was showing through the cavity on the wisdom tooth. I had the tooth out which wasn't this easiest of extractions. A few days later I developed an infection in the hole. Which eventually cleared with metro and amoxicillin. Even after that I had the most awful pain on the gum where the tooth used to be. Which eventually stopped after a month or two. But just recently the same pain has come back and it's been non stop for a week now. I'm getting really depressed as I've got events coming up. It's a dull pain/tingling sensation throughout the day but the odd agonising pain at certain times where I simply can't cope. The last time it happened I was referred to my hospital and they gave me an X-ray. Just to be told there's nothing wrong with me. But hey ho it's back again and it's getting me down :( need help people, thank you
