pain after root canale

I had a root canal done by a very reputable endodontist.

Than a temporary crown was placed and my tooth started to ache
and then a crown was placed. The pain has been bothering me now for 6 months.
The dentist said everything looked ok and didn't investigate further.
No X-Rays, nothing, just looked like he thought I was just whingeing

I saw my implant specialist for a different matter and he sent me for special X-Rays (I think 3 D images)
Anyway the implant specialist noticed on the X-Rays that the tooth in question has cracked (its root).
She said it cannot be saved.

My question is why wouldn't my dentist take and X-Ray and I would be quicker out of pain?

The dentist should have taken x rays as you have been in pain for so long. Ask the specialist to send you the x rays so you can upload them for the dentists here.

Why don't you go back to the endodontist for an opinion? That would seem the logical nest step. Take the 3D images, but sometimes endodontists have 3D machines that offer finer detail than the surgeon uses.
