I had the smallest spot on my tooth that was from a small filling that fell out. (from a bad dentist and unnecessary) But anyways, I got it refilled but really contemplated leaving it. But I have a new good dentist who used microblasting. But I am so worried that it will fall out and then I will not be able to find a new dentist that uses the microblasting tool. (this dentist will retire in 10 years) and I really dont want this tooth to be drilled. Should I just leave it when it falls out. Or can I find another dentist who uses that technique?

It depends on how small the filling is. If it small enough, you can leave it. Alternatively the dentist can use a slow handpiece, just to roughen the tooth surface, before replacing the filling.

Im upset I already filled it. It changed the shape of the tooth. He did use a microblaster but I wish I hadnt done it. Its also on my most used tooth and im worried it will fall out. It had a groove in it but he filled that as well so its a different shape then it was originally. What would you advise?

If the filling was bonded correctly, it shouldn't dislodge. Maybe only over time due to normal wear and tear on the filling. If the filling was already placed, my advice would be to leave it as it is. Any unnecessary drilling on a tooth can lead to other problems.

Your right. I went to a bad dentist who gave me 8 unnecessary fillings!! Im in the process of getting them all redone. It is very stressful. I do wish I had just left that small crevice as getting it refilled changed the shape of the tooth and caused me more worries.

You could be like me too who had two root canals from two botched fillings. Hopefully with new dentist it should help you and just tell them your worries. I may even lose one of my teeth now due to this dentist so yay. Hopefully everything works out for you.

First filling dentist shaved off half my tooth. Couldn't even fit floss in between teeth. Didn't feel right. 3 weeks later terrible pain and root canal. Miserable on Christmas. Thought that was the end of it. Went back on birth control and the other tooth with a filling went nuts. I went back to endo and they said that tooth didn't pass cold test. Needs a root canal. Filling wasnt good. Got that one done. Thought it was the end of it and felt good for 3 weeks. Issues started when they shaved that tooth down and put a temp on it. Permanent crown did not get better. I'm relatively sure at this point I either have nerve damage, the tooth has to go, or they suggested laser around the tooth so that the crown isn't touching. I don't blame anyone but the original dentist who did my fillings. That's what started it all.

Its called drill and bill. Most dentist are crooks ive discovered. You probably didnt need those fillings to begin with. I have 8 teeth ruined. Im lucky I dont commit suicide!! Its really miserable. Did you have any other dental work done before? But that small spot I had makes me mad, I should have left it. But I dont know why I thought filling it would work, and the dentist reshaped the tooth and over filled it! I should have left it :(

I do have a decent chunk of other fillings. These were my first root canals. I did need the fillings as I had cavities between them (I could see them) but if i could go back in time I would just let the tooth get bad and then only get the root canals. I think the fillings did something honestly. But yeah I'm in a similar boat and don't know what to do.
