Hi!
I have been a nervous wreck over the pain and look of the gum after lower implant surgery. Tomorrow will be a week.
When I look at it in the mirror, or in a video, I can see where it is split into 2 cuts, and the top flap with the stitches moves when I move my tongue.
The left side of my gave from my bottom lip down hurts, including under my tongue and into

Sometimes a flap is raised in order to place the implants, but afterwards the stitches is placed in a tension free manner. If there is too much tension on the tissues around the implant, the implant integration can fail. This is why you can feel the flap move with your tongue. I would still advise against messing with it too much.
