I have had pain on the left side of the face for about 2 months, but it seems
to be getting much worse. I've seen a dentist and several Drs. and done a CAT
scan and X-rays. The dentist made a lower mouthguard - which I don't think is
    helping much.

The pain seems to be coming from the TMJ, but I can't be sure. I also have
some pain in the left shoulder. Last night I got about two hours sleep. When I
try to go to sleep the pain gets much worse. When I'm up for about an hour
the pain gets less and even goes away.

Someone here recommended a NTI appliance. I'm not sure I would be a candidate
for that because I have a bridge on the right side which goes from the large
front tooth all the way to the back and the large left front tooth and the one
next to it are cemented together. (There is a gap between the two large front
    teeth.)

Would I be a candidate for an NTI? Any other suggestions?

Thanks very much in advance for any help/ideas.

You are a candidate assuming you have ruled out heart problems that can have
    similar symptoms.
The NTI relaxed a lot of muscles that can cause the pain you describe. If
it doesn't work, it is a good diagnostic tool to look elswhere.
