Is this an infection

Had my upper left 5 root canal Thursday but in past 24 hours been having throbving pain in gums swelling and painful to tap on tooth next to it upper left 6 this is the x ray he said where he’s mouse cusor was where the infection is above the 6 the tooth next to the root canal filling does this look right to you guys. As I had to go private for this and costed a lot of money. I also got to have this upper left 6 root canal on Tuesday would I still be able to have it done ??

Sorry, hard to tell on a photo of an Xray, too pixelated. The RCT of the 5 looks OK.
If that dark area does indicate an abscess, the simplest proof is to apply a cold spray to it - if it jumps, then the 6 is still alive and what you see is an artefact.

Thank you for your replay , so you can’t tell by the photo if there’s an infection where the mouse curser is, my symptoms are very swollen cheek throbbing pains in tooth tooth hurts to tap on worse when lying down gums under the tooth are hard and swollen
