Infection wont go away

Has wisdom tooth remove last Tuesday got infection started amoxicillin Friday with no improvement started mentrondizole Tuesday and so far no improvements I have severe stabbing aching pain in the area. What do I do now? I can’t cope.

Are you taking anti-inflammatory medicine? If the antibiotic course is finished and there is no improvement, the socket will have to be debrided manually and I would also suggest taking an x-ray to confirm that there is no leftover tooth pieces in situ.

Yes I’ve been taking ibuprofen every day

Finish the course of antibiotics and then return to the surgeon if there is no relief, to investigate further.

Yeah, I just got back from the dentist. I took an x-ray they said there’s no infection. There’s no bone leftoverwhat they said is because there was an infection, it’s taking longer to heal and that’s why I’m still in a lot of pain does it make sense to you?

It could be. Did they prescribe an extended course of antibiotics? The good news is, that if it is a dry socket, which is the most likely issue, it is self-limiting, which means that it will go away by itself, even with no intervention.
