Impressions vs intraoral scan for Crowns?

Hi, I was wondering which was the better route to go? Is it typically more expensive to do an intraoral scan? Faster turnaround for crowns?

I had two crowns redone a few years ago and I believe that may have cause the root canals to fail underneath, including a root fracture due to how hard my dentist was having me grind down to even it out?

Not sure which route to go in terms of looking for another dentist to place the crowns after my implants. Thanks so much!

The impressions can be more expensive than the scans, depending on the materials used. Impressions are also more technique sensitive, and therefore small mistakes can sneak through. In my opinion, modern intra-oral scans are more accurate.

Intraoral scans tend to be more efficient in terms of turnaround time for crowns, while costs may vary but do not necessarily exceed those of traditional methods when considering overall effectiveness and potential need for retakes.
