Image interpretation request following root canal treatment

Two months ago, I had RCT (Image 1) because infection was seen in the bone (it was asymptomatic). After a month, I was told the infection was decreasing (Image 2) and a crown should be fitted. At my appointment for this a month later, the tooth was sensitive to tapping so fitting the crown was delayed, although I was told that no change was seen (Image 3).

I would appreciate your interpretation of what is happening based on these images. Thank you.

It seems like there is some GP material protruding through the apex of the one root. This could sometimes lead to percussion sensitivity, but it could also resolve on its own, after a time.

Everything felt completely normal until the week of the third x-ray, when I started feeling a slight discomfort occasionally, and percussion sensitivity. Is it likely that the protruding GP material would only have an effect now after two months? I am concerned that the infection might be increasing again. Is it possible to tell what is happening to the infection from the images?

It could be that there is some residual infection that did not completely heal initially. Try a course of antibiotics first. If it does not clear up, a root canal re-do with an apicoectomy might be indicated. This should be done by a specialist.
