How long is too long with temp crowns?

Dec 2nd I had 9 front teeth ground fown and temp crowns put on. My impression was sent to a lab. I was supposed to get my new crowns in 6 weeks. At the 6 week mark I was informed the lab never received the pkg , but it was returned to the dentist and he had resent it. It has now been over 2 months and I am still waiting. My question is….at what point should a new impression be made? My temps have been falling off & the stick them back in. I’m concerned about my teeth shifting and my crowns not fitting properly after all this time.

The temps should keep the teeth in position, to prevent any shift, but if it reaches the 3 month mark, I would ask my dentist to perhaps consider new impressions or to give a guarantee of what the procedure would be if there is any issue with the fit of the crowns.

Thank you. It will most likely go past the 3 month mark, as the lab just received the old impression & I don’t have an appt scheduled for placement. I’m just very concerned about the fit due to it being 9 anterior top teeth. Thank you for your reply.
