About 5 weeks ago I've had 3 fillings done by a dentist. One filling was deep (UL5), close to the nerve/pulp. After the treatment I had pain on the left side when eating (particularly when biting down) and a very mild sensitivity to cold drinks. Everything felt kind of misaligned. It was worse when laying down. I also have trouble with inserting a floss around UL5, it gets shredded a little and I feel as if something was stuck in between the teeth. All symptoms were pointing towards high spot and reversible pulpits.
It was a bit difficult to get an appointment for adjusting the highs spot as the receptionist kept on pushing back saying that it's normal that it hurts and it might go away on its own. I've managed to get appointment for adjustment 3 weeks after the fillings were done.
During the adjustment the dentist did a lot of polishing to all 3 teeth, added extra filling, polished some teeth that he did not work on and told me to rinse my mouth with salt water, avoid spicy, sour, cold and hot things.
After the adjustment was done I still have the same kind of pain and the entire bite feels misaligned. It feels like there is less pressure on UL5 now but the teeth behind it hurts now (this teeth wasn't worked on) and its surface feels much harsher than it felt before the adjustment.
I have another adjustment appointment scheduled for tomorrow actually.
When doing the fillings, the dentist rushed adjusting the bite and I was concerned that they were pushing back with scheduling the adjustment appointment so I asked a different dentist to check the teeth and possibly help with the adjustment.
The 2nd dentist heavily criticised the work done by the 1st dentist saying that the fillings are "leaky" and are not sealed properly. She said I need to have these fillings replaced and also said that I need 16 more fillings. However, she did not include any details about treatment for replacing the fillings in the treatment plan and did not respond to my emails with questions about this omission. I thought maybe she said the fillings were poorly done only because she didn't want to deal with work done by other dentist so I went back to the original dentist.
Now I'm more concerned. It seems the adjustment made things worse in some ways and there were some slip ups that this dentist tried to conceal. This dentist cut my gums, which is ok, accidents happen but he never acknowledged it. He just said it's normal that I felt pain this time because I didn't have anaesthetics but there was lots of cotton covered with blood. I did feel some pain even on anesthetics when he was doing the filling though. He seemed generally quite stressed though.
He also didn't disclose that I may need a root canal treatment during the check up. He informed me about RCT when I arrived to do the fillings but he didn't take any new x-rays and didn't check my teeth again.
There were a few more red flags but this post is already quite long.
Right now I don't know if I should continue getting treatment from this dentist. I get the feeling that there might be some potential issues that he is not disclosing and is just trying to patch things up. I'm also quite anxious about all of this so it could be me just being irrational and too paranoid.
I've attached x-rays done by both dentists. The image with 2 x-rays (both on one page) is the x-ray taken before the fillings were done. The remaining x-rays were taken after the filling was done.
Would you be able to have a look at the x-rays to check if any potential issues with the fillings are visible there? It seems like there is something attached to the side of UL5 but I don't really understand these things.
