My gums have started bleeding almost every time I brush or floss, even though I try to keep up with my oral hygiene—could this be an early sign of gum disease?

I really need advice on what steps I should take before it gets worse.

When last did you go for a check-up with your dentist and a proper cleaning? Perhaps start there. The dentist will then advise you if he sees any inflammation. In the mean time, try rinse twice a day with some luke warm salt water, or an anti-inflammatory mouthrinse.

I was so worried when I first noticed blood in the sink, but I learned that even with a good routine, those "pink" bristles are often just a sign that your gums need a professional deep cleaning to hit the reset button. It really helped me to start using a softer brush and focusing on a gentle, circular motion, which calmed the inflammation while I waited for my dentist to confirm everything was okay.
