Gum repair

I was harmed by a past dentist and i have some receeding gums and peeling feeling on top from a hard nightguard process to move some teeth that didnt work. Its been 7 months since injuries and gums didnt fully heal. The upper temporary i have doesnt help the situation but i have to wear it during the day. Ive been doing remedies to try to promote healing. I am planning on removing my teeth and getting snapins or all on 4. Ive been consulting here and there and 3/4 doctors have said the gum issues will be sorted at surgery time. Thats very important to me as when i have the upper off i feel the slight peeling sensation on top left of gums and tongue is too aware of it and makes me sad, reminds me of that traumatic experience. If i get all on 4 the roof will be exposed, so its very important this gets sorted. It wont be an issue with a full denture or snapon though. Either way i would prefer the gums to be sorted. Either gum graphing and since they go in there and add bone and do alot of work i would expect it all to be covered as i was told. I saw a prosthodontist lady and she was willing to do some gum repair now, specially in the bottom theres some recession on the bottom of left lower crowned teeth. And then the upper bruised gums. But i see it this way, if im planning for planB to remove the teeth and it can be sorted during surgery time, may be better to wait till then. It would be included in whatever price i pay for that whole procedure i will be having vs paying extra to get it fixed now. I just want reassurance. My remaining teeth are also damaged due to bad dental experiences. Anyone can assure me the gums can be sorted during surgery??? Thanks! The doctor i pick for plan b has to reassure me on this!

I am so sorry you are dealing with this, as I once had a poorly fitted crown that caused constant gum irritation and it was incredibly draining to have that physical reminder of a bad experience every time I spoke or ate. It makes complete sense that you want to wait for the major surgery to fix everything at once, and seeing how transformative corrective surgery can be for gum and jaw alignment gives me so much hope that your surgical "Plan B" will finally give you the peace of mind you deserve.

I went through a similar nightmare with a bridge that caused chronic gum inflammation, and the constant "awareness" of that discomfort really took a toll on my mental health. It was such a relief when my specialist confirmed that the surgical process for implants actually involves reshaping and cleaning the gum tissue, so I can definitely reassure you that "Plan B" is the perfect time to clear away that damaged tissue and start fresh.

Have you seen a periodontist? Natural teeth offer better options than last-ditch implants. The periodontist may be able to repair your gum damage and will also be in a position to advise if your hygiene and health is good enough for implants - e.g. do you smoke, do you have diabetes?
Implants are not the right course for everyone but there are plenty of practitioners out there who will be happy to provide them without assessing if they are truly the best option for you and whether you will get lasting benefits. If they fail, you will be worse off than ever before.
